🔹 Learning Content
Language:
Grade 1 students are introduced to English through familiar vocabulary such as colors, numbers, classroom objects, and common animals. Grammar is kept at a basic level, focusing mainly on simple structures used to introduce and describe things around them. Students learn to use the verb “to be” and singular–plural nouns in daily communication, helping to form their initial language awareness.
Reading Skills:
Reading skills are developed through picture books, word charts, and short illustrated sentences. Students learn to recognize letters, pronounce initial sounds, and read simple model sentences. The goal is to help them connect sounds, images, and written words as a foundation for early reading comprehension.
Listening Skills:
Listening is practiced through songs, classroom commands, and short dialogues. Students learn to recognize familiar vocabulary, follow simple instructions, and identify the correct picture corresponding to what they hear. The focus is on developing active listening skills and remembering main ideas.
Speaking Skills:
Speaking in Grade 1 focuses on greetings, naming objects, and answering basic identification questions. Students learn to pronounce clearly and use ready-made phrases to participate in simple conversations with teachers or peers.
Writing Skills:
The Grade 1 English program guides students in writing by copying words and short sentences from models. Writing topics include their own name, favorite animals, colors, and numbers. Practice emphasizes letter formation, spelling, and correct word order.
🔹 Learning Methodology
In the Grade 1 English program, students are exposed to the language through vivid visuals, engaging sounds, and movement-based activities tailored to their developmental stage.
They do not simply learn theory but also participate in practical projects such as writing poems, planting trees, or creating simple products—transforming knowledge into meaningful experiences. Every skill, from phonics and vocabulary to grammar, is intentionally reinforced through a variety of learning methods, helping students retain knowledge deeply and progress at a pace suited to their individual needs.
Throughout the process, they receive regular feedback, practice individually, and are encouraged to record, observe, and self-correct, thereby boosting their confidence in communication. Alongside language learning, students also develop social–emotional skills such as cooperation, sharing, expressing opinions, and nurturing curiosity—creating a well-rounded learning environment that fosters both knowledge and character.
